PETER REMFREY
Deputy Chair
For a substantial part of his professional career, Peter has been engaged as Secretary of the Police Association of NSW. He is an experienced advocate, with a a sound working knowledge of the legislation underpinning both the NSW and National industrial relations systems. His principal role as Secretary of the Police Association of NSW (PANSW) was to lead all major negotiations over 20 years with the State Government and the NSW Police Force, to improve and protect the industrial entitlements and legal rights of the state’s 16,500 Police officers.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Economics and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has been a nationally accredited mediator since 2014, qualifying through successful completion of the Resolution Institute’s (formally LEDA) intensive program. This qualification has further developed his skills and built on his experience to find solutions to apparently intractable disputes.
Peter’s current roles as Chair and Board member of the Police Bank, and CEO of the Workers Health Centre have provided him with a broad range of experience and the opportunity to demonstrate his expertise in diverse industries. In addition, he is a Trustee of Unions NSW – a honorary role he has held for some years, culminating in the award of a Scroll of Honour, recognising his services to the peak body of Unions in this state.
