 Gavins Morris’ refereeing career spanned three decades, officiating 146 games at NRL level including the 2014 and 2015 NRL finals series. Gavin has also conducted research with Rugby League Match Officials and has published an article in a peer reviewed journal examining the key attributes to First Grade NRL referees. He holds a Bachelor of Education from James Cook University, a Master of Education from the University of Sydney and a PhD from Charles Darwin University. Gavin's research now focusses on Aboriginal education and health in the Northern Territory. He currently has a fulltime position as a lecturer at Charles Darwin University and is the Principal at Yipirinya School in Alice Springs. Gavin is a current board member of the Northern Territory Board of Studies, Gymnastics NT, College of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Healing Practices affiliated with the Psychotherapist and Counsellor Federation of Australia and executive member of Council of Government School Organisations in the NT.
